Seeking New Cell Phone

For the last couple of years I have been hobbling along with a pay-as-you-go cheapie Tracfone, which is expensive, annoying, and doesn't get good coverage, in addition to the phone not including basics like an alarm. As someone who works with all the major cellular carriers for a living, and knows what all of their networks look like from the inside, I have three things to say to you.

T-Mobile. T-Mobile. T-Mobile.

I can't say much more without severe violation of non-disclosure agreements. Just trust me on this. Everybody else is scary.

Plus, from a consumer standpoint: free long distance, free T-Mobile-to-T-Mobile calling, reasonable rates for calling plans and data services, a decent selection of phones, and a batch of free minutes every time your service anniversary rolls around.

P.S. - If you for some reason *want* to keep your old number, the Local Number Portability Act means you can take your number with you, you just need to tell your new carrier at signup.
