for some reason or other, i have spent a lot of time lately thinking about childbirth.
no, a LOT of time.
sometimes it gets a little obsessive.
MORE than a little.

it pretty much all started one morning last week, when i woke up and remembered that i had had a dream about having a baby. not giving birth to a baby, but just having one. she was a ( Read more... )

this entry is just so...you. i mean, obviously, because you wrote it. but it was insightful and funny and charming at the same time. the only thing missing from it to make it completely you was mentioning food.

anyway, you're super adorable and just don't get pregnant for the next few years and your vagina will be a-okay.

never has a livejournal entry made my genitalia so uncomfortable, and i don't even have a vagina.

yeah, so imagine if you did. the "ring of fire" author said that to try to explain her fear of the impending childbirth to her husband, she asked him to imagine that he would immediately lose an inch of his penis upon the birth of their daughter.

I was wincing reading this entry, but I'm glad I made it to the end.

I've read that there are some theories out there that the true purpose of the elusive female G-spot is that it is supposed to be the body's built-in painkiller. Maybe I am wrong (my mother had two C-sections, so she wouldn't be able to tell me), but I thought that the truly painful part of childbirth is the contractions, not so much the ripping and tearing.

::wince:: In any case, you will learn a lot about yourself in the next few years and it is a bumpy ride, but totally worth it. Good luck!

Thanks, Leah.
Here's hoping that neither of us will have to answer that query (contractions or tearing?) for quite a few more years!!
