Dr. Dixon dabble

Mar 20, 2010 18:09

I wrote this for the dabble contest over at I Do Hearts. It was my very first Dr. Dix fic, my first post to that community & the very first time I entered a contest. I didn't win anything, but I got 2 (count 'em 2 shiny badges!) one for participating in the contest & one for voting. Very pretty.

She wrapped her arms around her own slim body and rested her hands upon her heart.

Searching.

There it was.

Thump. Thump.

In. Out. She knew, in detail, every action her heart was performing.

In rhythm. In repetition. The order.

A life spent learning its mysteries. That was a life spent well.

She loved the red. It comforted her. It gave life. It gave her life.
