why are so many fascinating things illegal? i hate U.S. drug policy and our culture that arguably necessitates it.

i don't think it's our culture that necessitates it, i think it's that the culture has been molded and shaped around the policy.

i agree, they are historically mutually dependent and unfortunately seem inextricably linked, for the time being. it'd take a sea change.

yo, drugs are ridiculously interesting. it sucks that a lot of them we should really do research on are stuck in the classification category that disallows it.

nor is it mine. it's the culture of many people who are so dependent on the idea of illegality that no other form on control could structure their discipline. they can't imagine it coming from themselves.

off topic question-

what's your thoughts on hannibal rising (book and/or movie)? Sadly enough i just recently came across it for the first time (yay for slowly getting back in to the media loop!)

too bad this time around we won't both get to go to the prescreening of it and answer all the hannibal trivia questions!! :(
