"Love is closely connected with
our vision of happiness;

yet there is no one
we are more likely to hurt,
or be hurt by,
than the person we love."

but when do you think it's genuinely love?

when you want to see that person everyday?
when he's on your mind 24/7?
when you are willing to remove all your online profiles for that person?

it may just be that spur of the moment, then it disappears. sometimes we inflict this hurt upon ourselves, it's just easier to blame the other.

there are different manifestations of love.
all the things that you've mentioned are just different versions of it.

i don't really think there's non genuine love. i was reading the book. The way you pinpoint/define what love is, is not so easily provided for by language. We seem to know it, but can't find the correct way to put it across.

When we give of ourselves, we allow ourselves to be hurt.
When we love someone, we expect more of the person and then we inadvertently hurt them.
