So, I watched "Raines" (that new Jeff Goldblum show) last night.
Holy crap! I've always loved Jeff Goldblum and he was definitely his wonderfully quirky self throughout the whole episode. It's almost like they wrote the role for him and I love it.
The basic premise is that he's a homicide detective who imagines that the victims are helping him solve their murders. It's great because they victims can't answer his questions because they only know what he knows, because they really are just figments of his imagination.
And I can't believe it took me until the last ten minutes when he and his old partner were talking that I figured out that the old partner was dead and just another figment of Raines' imagination. I mean, in the first twenty minutes or so, we learned the story of the partner, but it took most of the show for me to realize that Raines is the only one who talked to the old partner (whose name I can't remember).
I think this may be one of my new favorite tv shows. If anyone's interested, NBC is replaying the pilot episode tonight at 10pm EDT. I would definitely recommend it. It's a good crime drama with just enough quirkiness to be hysterical.
