Gavin update

Surgery went very well. Life after surgery is tough though. This is harder than when he was a newborn. Gavin can't crawl, roll around, pull himself up, or do anything with his right arm. We have to carry him everywhere and hand him his toys. He's my super trooper... still smiling and babbling. The meds we have to administer are taking their toll. ( Read more... )

They had the IV in that arm. Post-surgery was by far the worst. He was drugged and hungry but not allowed to eat right away. He just kept crying... his throat was so raw from being intubated. Finally our surgeon yelled at the nurses to "Get my baby some Gatorade!"
They didn't remove the splint until we checked out either. So, essentially he woke up with little to no mobility.

I've been thinking of you guys all week. So good to know that all through this he's still a little smiler! Get yourself some antibiotics for the sinus infection - your body is exhausted and having to fight that is just something you can't try to do right now! Give my love to Lori and a huggiesmooch for Gavin!

Problem is, he hasn't been eating his food and he's breastfed so we can't slip it in a bottle.

He has to have Nystatin (1 ml in each cheek) 4 times a day for his thrush. Yup, that's 8 total doses.
Augmentin (antibiotic) twice a day... and Tylenol about twice a day.
SUCKY SUCKY SUCKY!
