The week seemed to crawl by, antsy as the full moon approached and the tension in the house and on the estate grew thicker. Each month was different but she was happy to be home than at school, feeling strange and trapped inside the castle where there were so many rule and curfews. At least when she was home then she had the freedom the stay up all

This was weird. This was so weird. And awkward. It was the most awkward a person had ever been. Cameron had been on dates, a couple anyway. None of them had made him quite so nervous. He'd spent a good amount of time pretending he didn't have a date at all. Then Chandler, the traitor, ratted him out; he knew he needed to stop telling her things.

Then his father had tried to give him some sort of speech that Cameron blocked out immediately after it happened. It wasn't like this was his first date. There was no reason to give him that now, except maybe he hadn't been entirely subtle. Everyone seemed to know how much he liked Leah. Which just went to figure

Leah was thankful that her family had made themselves scarce, probably taking a convent and casual trip over to the main house for dinner. It was her mum's last little gift to her over this whole first date business, which she was thankful for.

Cameron had been to the house a hundred times but it was always for Ethan. Today is was for her.

Which was exactly why she was smiling like a damn idiot when she stepped out of her bedroom and into the living room to greet him. And he looked even cuter than before.

"Hey, sorry-" she said, "I didn't realize my mum stepped out or I would have been waiting-"

"Oh, hey, yeah, no that's fine." Cameron grinned. He wasn't sure he was making much sense, but if she was going to go around looking like that, what did she really expect?

Leah was always pretty, but she was completely gorgeous in that moment, even as casual as she looked.

"I was kind of worried that I'd get questioned or something? Is that weird?"

"I was sort of worried Ethan would distract you with a new game and you'd forget all about our game," she offered, looking sheepishly up at him.

It was mostly joking, but there was definitely seriousness in it. Though, in the last few weeks she had noticed a few stolen glances from him, a couple even causing him to lose whatever it was he was playing.

That had to mean something, right?

"But I guess we're both in the clear."

Good thing they got their insecurities right out on the table and out of the way. Great.
