ARGH!  I pressed a button and my entry got lost in internet space... T_T

Anyway, I was doing research on sex education for my semester-long writing assignments for Social and Behavioral Aspects of Community Health, and I learned. :D I never actually did any "academic" research on the subject, so it's been pretty informative so far.  I'm writing this ( Read more... )

sex education, crochet, school kills, public health, texas, knitting

Suck dumb ass people. ignorance is mans worst quality. But yeah.. tmi on the cup/pad thing haha but then again not surprising from you lol. You should nit me something someday. Like a beanie or something haha.

OMG, I ran across the real story while doing my research, but it was way too repulsive to keep in my memory. :P But yea, some girls apparently made a pact to get pregnant, but to what purpose, who knows?

The movie sounds interesting though! It's not really clear if it already premiered or not, but I'll def. try to see in somehow. :D

Still like pink? I promise to knit/crochet something for you! ♥

It's weird, it's like I have time but I don't. And I just learned that Dr. Wicha (my research advisor at UTSA) will hire me~ Woo! So one thing down, a few more things to go~

You calling me forces me to stop running around like a headless chicken. :D I have a ton of reading to do for tomorrow and wednesday but after that....:winkwink:

Haven't I raved about cloth pads and Diva cups to you before? Diva cups = love. I suggest going with short fingernails the first time you try it, and also tie some floss to the stem in case you have issues taking it out.

And those interesting books you should check out are Taking Charge of Your Fertility and Perdido Street Station by China Mieville.

You haven't~! Do you have any? How do you like them? I'm kind of worried about the cloth pads though, since I wonder if they stay put or not...I'm the girl whose pads tend to move one one side or the other, regardless if there are wings or not. -_-; Thanks for the tips though, I'll keep in mind when I get it. ♥♥

And thanks for the books~! I'll get to them ASAP! XD

D: Yeah, I have some pads..they're OK. More comfortable, but they have to be changed more often. I wear them at night.

The cup, though, is AWESOME. It holds a lot, so I can put it in in the morning and not have to worry about it until I'm ready to shower and go to sleep. And its leakproof all night, too. You just have to be sure to wipe well after you insert it, since any blood that happens to be below where the cup is may leak (but its only a tiny bit).

And no, it doesn't stretch your uterus..it only goes into your vagina about halfway, it doesn't even get near the cervix. The suction of it can feel weird if its not in right, but overall..I love it. Bah, I'm wearing it right now and I'd totally forgotten I was on my period till now.

That is so cool! *.* I'll have to force you to give me a mini workshop on all that stuff once I get my paws on them :D! It should be soon, maybe, since I just got the job at my lab!! XD Happy periods, here I come~~~~~

Yay for researching! hehe

I've looked at the diva cups before. I have never liked the idea of foreign objects being in those sort of places. But the moonpads are a definite goal for later. I haven't gotten any yet because I was embarrassed to wash them in the dorm. Maybe when I finally get my own place (which may be soon) I can try them. Thanks for the esty link too! Those ones are waaaaay cheaper than any I've seen before. <3

Research is tedious and it always gets me side-tracked. But I'm glad I like it. It could be worse!!

Yea, I understand your concern...My mom asked me if it stretched your uterus, but I didn't read anything about that, so I think it's okay. I'll do a bit more research before I get them, but it seems to be generally loved. As for the moonpads, aren't they cute? I think you could definitely make them too! I found a couple of diy sites, but I'm still stuck on crochet right now sooo....

Oh Dorm life. I think the diva cup would make that a bit more convenient though. But if you're getting your own place soon....:D
