Ode on Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood

What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;

most of my quotes aren't from a quote book...they are usually from various books I've read but this one is from a movie called "Splendor in the grass" starring Natalie Woods and Warren Betty (omg he looks so weird young but not in a bad way...just not used to it).

And dirty and careless and old he wore, as his lamp of hope grew dim;
He tramped for years till the swag he bore seemed part of himself to him.
As a bullock drags in the sandy ruts, he followed the dreary track,
With never a thought but to reach the huts when the sun went down Out Back.

Henry Lawson
