Whoa.

Just watched Jesus Camp.  Who has seen this?  Were you not SCARED?  I was.  Especially creepy was the communal blessing over a cardboard icon of--who else--President Bush.  I'm about to indulge in some more of the deleted scenes.  You just can't make this stuff up.

Moving on to other matters, I have nothing but contempt for most of the people of ( Read more... )

lol. People are stupid. At least that's how I feel every time I come across another idiot at work. Yes, of course we sell books at B&N. Yes, Swedish is the language spoken in Sweden. COME ON PEOPLE! Common sense is a rarity.

And I need to see Jesus Camp.

People actually ask if you sell BOOKS at Barnes and Noble?! You've got to be kidding me.

Yeah, I've had a caller or two on the phone who were ridiculous enough to ask that. I hope that one was just joking, but the other... I'm afraid he was very serious.

Random lady at Subway: Do you guys sell sandwiches?
Me: *giving an incredulous look* I believe we do.

We couldn't make this shit up, could we?

THAT"S why I got out of the south as soon as possible. I hate the people there (except for Hendrix). Have you experienced the joy that is Baton Rouge traffic yet? It's a doozy! Did you know that about 90% of my high school graduating class went to LSU? If I hadn't been such a rebel you never would have met me. If you set up shop in LA after finishing school then I'll tell my parents to bring their cats to you. Their Tommy now weighs 13.5 lbs. What a fatass.

Baton Rouge traffic? Shouldn't have gotten me started. I was actually going to mention it in the post, but then I thought I had done enough bitching for the day.

I'm not the greatest driver, but people in this city are just plain aggressive and inconsiderate. Need to make your way over to your exit? Try signaling a mile ahead of time....nope, nevermind, nobody will let you in anyway. Waiting to turn left into busy traffic? No worries....perhaps a persistent car horn behind you will help your nervous transition. When I drive 5 mph over the speed limit people still tailgate.

I'm glad you decided not to be an LSU zombie. I see some of (what I assume to be) incoming freshmen shopping at Wal-Mart, and they all look like clones of the same cheerleader. Disgusting. Have a personality, folks. One free with every purchase of "Cosmo."

I've wanted to see Jesus Camp, but I just now finally cancelled Netflix--I had to cut costs so I can rent an apartment I can't afford in order to avoid those "mentally dull and animalistic" people you described. (Excellent writing by the way--I knew exactly the kind you're talking about).

I own Jesus Camp. It's definitely disturbing, but, sadly, I wasn't surprised by much of what I saw in it. The right-wing cult thinks that it has a monopoly on Jesus.
