Hey, I see it now! That's cool. I saw some kind of video somewhere where various drawings gradually become more stylized until they're 漢字, but I can't for the life of me remember where.
Yeah, most of the Chinese programs on the U.S. and Canadian west coast emphasize traditional/complex, because of the large 華僑 population... except for UBC and Stanford, because they're weird.
