Ooh, I got a book like that at the library book sale three years ago or something. I didn't really understand it much, though, so the only real books I've read in Chinese are the ones with zhuyin along the sides which I guess is cheating but I don't care.

Oh, so you must be a native speaker. I have a book of fairytales with pinyin under the characters, but if the word's totally new to you anyway, it doesn't make much difference!

You are very, very clever. I have never been to Scotland but 'best open-air scrumptious public curry kitchen in the so-called British Isles.
' makes me want to go there very much. When are you going to Dalian?

Incidentally, did you know that the Pet Shop Boys have just released a love song for asylum seekers?!?

You are very, very sarcastic. Instead of that cow, you should use a special wry face for such moments. I'm going to Dalian for the academic year, a whole year without a paper Guardian or cheese.

I was not being at all sarcastic. I am jealous though. You can get cheese in Metro in Dalian, unless you're on any kind of budget that is. Tell 'em I sent you!

Cheese: Jolly good, but since I heard that cheese protein naturally contains addictive opiates I've started to wonder about my habit anyway. No sarcasm? Dang.
