Especially the 1 of the white van guy.. I think it captures some quintessential mood, feeling, attitude.
Your squid-on-a-stick sellers reminded me of that great old classic Gary Larson cartoon - you probably remember the one - it was captioned "Early business failures, no. #27", & it showed the archetypal Larson Neanderthaler manning his little open-air snack-seller's stall, with a sign on it saying "Porcupine-on-a-stick, 5 cents".. and he's holding a bunch of sticks, each one having a live squirming little spiky beast tied on the end of it.. and there's a dopey-looing 'satisfied customer' figure just walking away holding his purchase & just about to lick it like a lollipop. Yum!
