I suppose you will cover all aspects in future posts; just wondering though - do all these places have their own language or dialect.. are you hearing much of the local banter as you chug relentlessly through/on/by/over/out?

Awww...You make me missing home now. It's still two weeks till I can go home.

Tianjin: ...Messy temporary railway station.

Right now Tianjin is under construction. LOL

Pingyao: ...We're staying on a kang in an ornate courtyard house.

I think staying on a kang is the ideal way to go through a cold night.

Hej Kay,
that's some hardcore travelling. how long were you in harbin? It seems a long way to go just to hop on a train in the opposite direction straight away. I shall resolve to be a more frequent commenter now.

Harbin was worth it for the ice festival alone. Also, I wanted to start my trip further north than Dalian, so I can really travel the lenghth of China. Sounds frivolous but I mean well! Hope you're having fun :)
