Guangzhou to Hong Kong, two hours, day. Train. 220 yuan. Guangdong province, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Hong Kong back to Guangzhou, day, HKD190. Hong Kong, Guangdong.

Guangzhou to Dalian, three or four hours, day. Plane. 1160 yuan. Probably Guangdong, Jiangxi, Anhui, Jiangsu, Shandong, Liaoning provinces.

Ah now LKQ, I hardly think the poor engineers are the ones responsible for the banning of livejournal.

That was me being silly :) I was referring to the Nine who rule in the Great Hall of the People, who interestingly are all engineers. I have no idea about the actual machinations that would lead Livejournal to be blocked, but everyone's linking it to the meeting of the, of the, what's it called, the National People's Congress in the capital at the mo.

Hopefully the LJ block won't last too long. I've got all kinds of proxies (at work, we basically rely on proxies to get our jobs done), but it's enough of a pain in the ass to use them...

I've only ever spent an afternoon in Hong Kong, but I liked what I saw. The real star of the Pearl River Delta, though, has to be Macau. Old, run-down, bustling, European and Cantonese...it's an awesome place. If I had to live there, I'd probably be sick of it inside a month, but as is I can't wait to go back and visit.
