These thoughts are unwinding...

Just thinking: If you don't give 100%, you've lost so much more than if you gave your everything. Even if you don't succeed, the most anyone can ask of you is that you give absolutely everything you have, and if you do, you still have so much left. Pride, self-respect, the sense of duty fulfilled and accomplishment. Holding back is only easier ( Read more... )

What is 100% though?, you can always give more, you can always give that last little bit of effort, energy, time, or money. So at what point is set as a standared of 100%?

What if the 100% becomes detrimental? Where is the line between being cowardly and giving, and stepping back because it's harmful? Or is it always 100% or you are a coward? Can you be full-hearted at whatever you're doing(as opposed to half-hearted) and not give 100%?

I'm just thinking out loud in response. This is a very interesting post indeed. Very thought provoking.

Well, I was posting this in reference to giving 100% energy, physically (note the time of my post is right after I got home from soccer practice), but I guess you could apply these thoughts to other areas.

Good points. I think there's other reasons for not giving 100% than cowardice (apathy, laziness, lack of interest, distraction). And by 100% I meant doing your best to do the right thing, exerting yourself as much as you need to to accomplish your goals.

Somehow it doesn't surprise me that you found this thought-provoking, even though I used few words and simple language.

I Like what De had to say, there has to be a line because you can't serve and give 24-7 in a physical sense; but lets imagine for a second that we have established a good balance as far as how we serve God, and what we do for Him, and want to give him 100 percent of our soul and our thoughts, and live this life 100% for Him, technically; i don't think Humans are able to give 100%....they are incompetent. Now i am just being technical, but sit back and think about it...its true.

there is this little thing called sin that gets in the way, and screws everything up, wether you like it or not, all of our minds have been corupted and shallowed. we are incapable of giving 100%...................................sorry, thought comming out of Chris's head

My definition of 100% would be everything you have, for as long as you need to. Even imperfect humans are capable of giving as much as they can at any given time

I've got more, but it'll have to wait.
Deanna, I'll reply to yours later, just so you know I'm not ignoring you.
