hey i just felt like commenting because we had this awesome discussion in english today and part of it was on perfection and happiness. and zach, one guy in our class was telling us all how his older brother is 20 and makes 70,000 a year. his brother finished chapman in 2 years, and was this really successful guy. he said that his motto in college was "friends are for the weak." i aksed zach if his brother was happy, and he said, well--he has a lot of money...and he has a new girlfriend." and in my head, i was like...thank god he has a girlfriend. he's over that "weak" thing. one step closer to happiness. but it was really ironic because the epiphany i had on monday night while watching one of the choir's sing whitacre's A Boy and A Girl, was that happiness can exist without success. and that's my topic for my essay.
