Valentine's Day rant

UGH!!! Valentine's Day is here once again. Yeah I sound bitchy at the moment, but who cares. Valentine's Day is just another excuse for people to appeal and satisfy the commercial world. It's just a crutch. Sometimes I have to wonder if Valentine's Day is more hype than anything else. Sure you get the person you care about the most an expensive ( Read more... )

...you're kinda depressing. Since you don't care if you sound bitchy, I won't bother to go over most of the times where you're just being negative here.

Every holiday gets commercialized (even Hanukkah, which Hallmark can barely spell). But they're still set days, even if they're not holy. Like birthdays. I know you don't really celebrate holidays, but let other people believe in their perceived significances.

Practical gifts are helpful, sure. But how many impractical things do we all have? Get off your high horse, you'd like chocolate if it was given to you.

(The cursing is still disorienting from you.)

Danny I'm ashamed! Instead of seeing that a friend of yours was bummed about being alone on a holiday you have to snap at her like she was personally attacking you. You don't just do that to a person because they're having a bad day and they want to vent on live journal. Geez, it's pretty easy to see when your friends are upset about something you comfort them. If the message of the holiday was really that important to you, you'd be willing to take the time and show her what it was all about to cheer her spirits ( ... )

I'm glad you're ashamed for me, because I wasn't feeling it. I'm not going to see something that she claims not to feel - if she says she's bitching about Valentine's, not any personal aspect (being alone), then I have to believe that's the truth of the matter. You can't really claim that the holiday is unimportant to me simply because I didn't cheer her to an extent that you deem satisfactory. You should know by now - if you're willing to attack something people care about, you deserve to get the dissent from those that disagree ( ... )
