Wow! So my not using sunscreen, while contributing to wrinkles on my face, may be helpful in me not getting cancer! Woo!

I'm so glad this finally came up! I've been hearing snippets of theories about it for years.

Also, I smoke outside, in the sun, so I'm now calling my smoke breaks "vitamin D breaks." Maybe they'll cancel each other out. ;)

Interesting. I can't say I'm all that surprised. Ever since I read about breastfed babies developing things like rickets because their mommas were being so diligent with the sunscreen, and they weren't getting Vitamin D from formula, I've wondered what else we might be depriving ourselves of when we refuse to go out in the sun without sunscreen.

(wandered over here from knitting, hope you don't mind.)

I don't mind at all. :-)

I've been trying to go sunscreen free. I hate wearing the stuff, but I'm quite pale and burn easily. I've actually found that it's not too hard. Most of the time, I can stick to the shade without too much difficulty. Even IL's swimming pool is in the shade after 3 pm.
