Allergies on the march

This is the worst trouble I've had with allergies ever, with symptoms more extreme. It's near anaphylaxis. (At least that explains why Sudafed helps.) I've taken to wearing a particle filtration mask when I go outside, and that definitely makes a difference. It weirds people out, so I briefly pull the mask down and explain it's just because of ( Read more... )

A topic I can chime in on! I'm just now using the steroid nose spray. It helps.

I'll check it out, but I wonder how it'll work for symptoms that mostly aren't centered in the head (nausea, sinus headaches, uterine cramping, asthma, fatigue, tingling lips, on down to mental confusion and just plain feeling ill).

Never thought I'd miss streaming nose and eyes. I get a touch of that at most now, and then it burrows in further.

Man, I hope that you get it under control. Sneezing uncontrollably is a big pain in the butt!

I have a HEPA air filter in the bedroom and recommend it for anyone with allergies.

I have one now too, and yes, it does help. (Probably need to replace the filter; thanks for reminding me.) It's just that sometimes you have to leave the bedroom. :)

ugh. good luck. i'm ignoring the possibility that my 2 day post-cold headache might be allergy related myself... but that's nothing on you.

good luck!

I can now both empathize and sympathize: never had environmental allergies before but Melbourne had more rain this year than in the years I've lived here before and the pollen counts are higher as a result. Woke up this morning with streaming eyes and nose. The emergency rooms are reporting record numbers of people coming in with allergy-related complaints.

Hope you find some prescription relief but glad the mask is helping, at least.

I've tried a couple of prescription pills, but so far their side effects outweigh the benefits. At the moment I'm back on the first-line antihistamines.
