From Dear Prudence:

Dear Prudie,My daughter is 5 years old and has, like most girls her age, a hamper's worth of stuffed animals. I just finished this book that I thought you might be interested in. It's called "The Revolution Will Not Be Microwaved: Inside America's Underground Food Movement" by Sander Ellix Katz. He talks a lot about slow food, seasonal fruits, seed saving and something along the lines of gorilla gardening for urbanites. It was really interesting and since you seem pretty interested in urban gardening and the like I thought you might want to pick it up.

By the way, I showed jenn the video from the Hawaii Wider Op - brought back lots of memories! Did I ever tell you that during a parade in Morris (the town I went to College at), the Girl Scouts marched with a Cd player playing the CD the CD we recorded. Nothing was more bizarre than hearing Nisha's voice echoing through the streets of hick-town Minnesota! Hope all is well!

Wow, that sounds great. I will definitely check that book out. I'm into urban gardening and cooking. It sounds right up my alley!

Was there a video from the wider op? I guess I must have seen it, but I can't recall at the moment. But oh man, what a great memory from the parade. I've had so many coincidences like that around Girl Scouts - my latest is someone I saw briefly at camp that turned out to be a student at my college. She later disappeared, then ran into me randomly at the library and invited my whole household to dinner. It was great! But definitely a bit surreal.

How have you been, anyway?
