The problem is the hypocrisy so always keep that in mind. Yes, it's terrible that this happened to these people and that they had to go through it. However, it's important that the public gets informed about world news. Is this news as important as natural disasters, economic and political problems, and developments in technology and law? No. The media does have a predilection for crime-related news about one specific terrible occurrence (kidnapping, murder, rape, burglary, fire\arson, etc). This is often not the most important news. That is a problem. Additionally, the hypocrisy you mentioned is another as is the problem of objectivity\honest reporting. As I see it, those are the three problems with news.

I concur that they -are- there to -inform- but the pools of blood thing isn't news, its an attempt to gain more traffic and possibly more profit. *shrug* I just fail to see the importance of these tidbit videos.

This is, to me, below NBC pimping Dateline to discuss the end of Friends and Fraiser. That's just pathetic, but this is showing no decency. I find it to be borderline exploitation.
