A/N: It’s been almost ten years since I’ve written a fic, so this is all new to me again. English isn’t my native language, so this is also the first fic I’ve written in English. Comments are love! This chapter has quite a lot of violence in it, so consider yourself warned.

Summary: Tommy is tired of his life and travels to a secluded hotel to clear his head. Weather reports say there’s a killer storm coming in and it’s likely to cut the hotel’s connections to the outside world. The storm does just that, and it also brings uninvited guests who happen to be vampires. What happens to Tommy in the hands of these dangerous creatures?

Chapter 2

More blood on the floor. . .

Adam looked like a predator, terrifying and breathtakingly beautiful at the same time. Like a panther, stalking its prey. For a moment Tommy thought that this was it, Adam was going to attack him. It never came. Adam just turned his gaze back to where Kris was ruthlessly savaging Kevin. Kevin wasn’t screaming anymore, he was only flailing his arms in the air.

Suddenly, Kris dropped Kevin to the floor and walked away to take a napkin from one of the tables in order to wipe his face. Kevin groaned as he was sprawled on the floor near the stage.

“What the fuck are you?” Kevin choked.

“Yeah, tell us what you are, and what you want from us!”

The voice belonged to the man whose name Tommy didn’t know. He was currently hugging his girlfriend as they were surrounded by two armed guards.

Kris chuckled as his fangs disappeared. “I guess it is necessary for all of us. Before we get this party started, we should get to know each other.”

Well that didn’t sound very good.

“Get everyone on their knees here,” Kris commanded.

With that, one of the armed guards approached Tommy. The five of them were all being forced down on their knees in front of the stage. Tommy noticed that the six people, who weren’t carrying handguns, looked extremely calm, whereas the other six who were carrying them seemed just a tiny bit agitated. Could it be so that half of them weren’t like Kris and Adam?

“How the hell did you survive it?” Kevin’s voice was still wrecked and he was holding a hand on his neck. Kris just chuckled again and started talking in a venomous voice.

“You see, when you and Ann dumped the bodies of mine, Katy’s and my brother’s into that icy river, I was still alive.”

All of a sudden, it dawned to Tommy what all of this was about. It was all about personal revenge and had nothing to do with him.

“I was barely alive when Adam found me. He saved my life by turning me, but he couldn’t help Katy or Daniel anymore.” Before anyone had the courage to ask more, Kris continued, “You were my best friend Kevin, and you just cut my throat open. You shot my brother in the head while Ann stabbed my wife in the back countless times!! Katy was pregnant, Ann, you knew that!!!”

“And why? So you could get this castle and all of our assets, all of it just because of greed. You knew your name was in the will and that you would inherit us if my brother was somehow prevented. I heard that the police had found two bodies and they assumed me dead too. I also heard that the two of you were suspected to have something to do with our deaths, but the police just couldn’t piece it together, could they? So Kevin got everything, including this place. Your masterplan, Kevin!”

Something in Tommy’s head had started spinning when he listened to the horror story Kris was telling them. Except that it wasn’t just a story. It seemed that Kevin and Ann were cold-blooded murderers who were responsible for the death of Kris’s brother and pregnant wife. ‘How the hell is this going to end?’

Tommy knew he couldn’t say anything that would help him get away from the hall. Pleading wouldn’t help; he had already seen the gunmen’s faces. He wouldn’t be begging for his life like some pathetic victim in an action movie, no matter what. Because he still had his pride.

“Why did you wait ten years to get your revenge?” The voice was barely audible and it belonged to Ann who was now pressing a napkin against Kevin’s neck. Tommy couldn’t see what his neck looked like, he could only guess. The mental image wasn’t pretty.

“Because the first eight years, Katy and our child was all I was able to think about!” Kris lashed in a way that didn’t leave any doubt to how much pain he had gone through. Tommy felt sorry for him.

“What are you? Why did you bite him in the neck?” Now it was the other woman talking. She didn’t seem as afraid as Ann was. She was holding her hands crossed and she even seemed a bit annoyed. Questions had finally started to fly.

“You will find out soon enough, I’m afraid.”

Adam was speaking the first time, and Tommy was completely mesmerized by his voice only after a few words. His voice was like pure silk on Tommy’s skin, soft and flowing. It also held a promise of something darker; it was laced with a hint of danger. Tommy shuddered to himself and Adam glanced at Tommy briefly.

‘He’s some kind of a frigging telepath or something.’

Kris was taking slow steps towards Kevin and Ann. As the two jumped a bit, Kris hissed again like some feral beast and then started talking.

“The last two years I’ve been planning this. Two years I’ve waited for an opportune moment. A time when you two would be alone here, and we could do whatever, without any witnesses. That was until I couldn’t wait any longer,” Kris growled.

“I’ve known Eric a long time you know, he has been my eyes and ears,” Kris spoke and gestured towards Eric.

Tommy hadn’t noticed him returning into the hall. Eric was leaning to a wall near one of the doors, casually examining his fingernails. Eric had been acting strange and now the explanation was suddenly crystal clear. He was on Kris’s payroll.

“Thanks to Eric, we were able to find a moment when there would be the least of guests staying here. We were also able to find out everything about the guests.” With that, Kris turned his eyes to the anonymous couple on the floor.

The woman was gasping as her boyfriend looked enraged.

Kris laughed, “And we did find out some interesting facts about the two of you.”

“You know nothing, you psycho!” yelled the man as the blond woman was holding him tight, as if in order to stop him from attacking anyone.

“Oh, I know everything,” Kris countered. “You two are the ones wanted for three robbery homicides in Texas.”

Just as Kris had said that, the man shook his girlfriend off of him, attacking Kris. It all happened just as fast as a strike of a lightning. Suddenly Kris was holding the man’s throat and then throwing him back on the floor.

“Did I give you a permission to move?!” Kris yelled.

Oh fuck. The fangs were back. Now Tommy couldn’t help jumping a little. His knees were already numb and his palms had started to sweat as he was trying to process all the information. Was he surrounded by murderers?

“You didn’t even try to deny it.” Kris spat out, disgust apparent in his voice.

And then there was a complete silence. Suddenly all eyes turned to Tommy.

‘Shit!’

“And then there’s you, Tommy Joe Ratliff.” Kris’s voice changed its tune, sounding a bit resentful.

Tommy cleared his dry throat and managed to spill, “What about me?”

“You shouldn’t have come. It is very unfortunate that you are here. This wasn’t your battle.” Kris sounded sad and turned away from Tommy to look at Kevin again.

Before Tommy could wrap his head around anything, Kevin started speaking again, and after that, the air was filled with poison.

“You are still just a rich brat, aren’t you Kris? You know what, you all deserved your faith ten years ago, too bad you somehow managed to survive it. We had so much fun killing the three of you.”

Tommy could already see where this was going; there would be more blood on the floor very soon. Thunder roared outside and the bassist shook his head in order to get his thoughts back together. He knew he was about to witness something horrible soon and that was just one of the things he couldn’t do anything about.

“What are you going to do to us?” It was the blond woman talking, her cold eyes flashing hate as she spoke. Chills crawled along Tommy’s spine at the question. It seemed the strangers, both armed and without guns, were coming a bit closer around them, forming a circle with no escape.

“What are we going to do…? It has something to do with this,” Kris said.

Then Kris opened his mouth wide, fangs extending and eyes changing colour to a much lighter tone of brown, with a touch of red in them. He was a fucking Dracula. Ann was shrieking again, until a pale woman with curly, brown hair silenced her.

“What are you?!” Kevin practically yelled his lungs out.

“A vampire.” Kris continued, “Six of us are, including me.”

It seemed Tommy’s suspicions had been right; the other six carrying guns really needed them because they were humans.

For an obvious reason, nobody tried to question the word vampire. It was supposed to be impossible, yet they could all see it. Tommy felt a little fascinated looking at Kris’s features, he didn’t feel the paralyzing fear a person should have felt in such a fucked up situation.

“You are nothing, Kris. I hate you! It was the best feeling in the world to slice your throat open! I should have tortured you more… Ten fucking years I thought I had finished you, but you were still around!” Kevin hissed between his teeth.

Apparently somewhere along the conversation Kevin had gone crazy, though it was obvious he had been a nutcase a lot longer. Kris turned to look at Adam who was standing on the stage, quiet and beautiful.

“Adam?” Kris’s voice wavered as the name rolled from his lips.

Adam gave Kris a kind smile, taking a step forward as his face turned back to a serious mask.

“You know what you need to do. I want your nightmare to end, you deserve peace from this. And, I’ve already said I support your decision.” Adam’s voice and words held so much what seemed to be compassion and then he fell silent again.

“Kevin, get up.” Somehow Kevin followed Kris’s order and soon the two men were staring at each others eyes. “This is where it all ends, Kevin, my old friend. I wish you hadn’t done what you did because otherwise we would still be friends. I would have Katy and our daughter, Daniel would still be around… I’m so sorry.”

Tommy stopped breathing as the last word died on Kris’s lips. He didn’t close his eyes or turn his face away when Kris attacked again, biting Kevin’s jugular with more force than before. Screaming filled the air, but Tommy couldn’t really hear it, the world seemed to slow down a bit.

This was probably going to be the day he died. He would never have to make the choice concerning the bottles of pills he had in his backpack. The decision would be made for him. He was witnessing a murder; there would be no way out.

Kevin was still fighting weakly, his shirt covered in red, as Kris continued sucking his blood. Kris wasn’t just biting though; he was tearing the flesh, spilling drops of blood to the floor like rain.

‘Justified revenge,’ Tommy’s brain kept repeating.

Tommy couldn’t sympathize for Kevin, not after what he had heard. He just kept watching silently as the women screamed in horror and disbelief.

Tommy turned his gaze away and noticed that there was a pair of blue eyes watching him intently. As if Adam was wondering why Tommy didn’t panic, or scream, or fight. He was breathtaking, and Tommy couldn’t suppress his thoughts.

‘Angel of death.’

Adam raised a single eyebrow, another sign he might be able to hear Tommy’s thoughts.

Tommy was now sure he was going to die here, the vampires wouldn’t let him live. And in some twisted way, he wanted Adam to be the one killing him. Even more oddly, he didn’t feel fear; he didn’t care about how painful it would be. His life had already made him familiar with pain.

Kevin had been silent for a while. When Kris finally dropped his lifeless body to the floor, he was dead. Completely drained.

“What now, Adam?” Kris sounded very tired as he took a chair and sat on it.

“We do exactly what we planned. We stay here and wait for the storm to pass, meanwhile we take care of everything and rest.” Kris just nodded at Adams words.

“What are you going to do to us?” It was the blond woman speaking again.

The couple still didn’t seem to be getting it. There would be no way out. Ann was hysteric and shouting insults to the woman restraining her.

The couple was criminals and Ann was responsible of the gruesome death of a pregnant woman. That fact made Tommy feel sick. A part of him shouted that the trio would be getting exactly what they deserved.

“You are not going to kill us like you killed Kevin, are you?” Ann’s words echoed in the hall, and there was a bright flash of thunder and a roar of the wind.

The only answer they got was a toothy grin. Ann started shrieking again and as cruel as it might have been, Tommy wished someone would shut her up.

“No, no, please. Let us go,” Ann pleaded.

“Adam?” The man who spoke was pale and had eyeliner in his eyes. His head was shaved and he had a small beard.

“Yes Monte?” Adam responded.

“I was just wondering how we are going to do this. I know you are on a diet and stuff. So you won’t probably be feeding yourself together with us.”

“Actually,” Adam started, “I’ll take him.”

It took only a second for Tommy to realize it was him Adam was talking about. Adam approached him and paused right in front of him. Tommy was still on his knees on the floor, he hadn’t moved a bit the whole time.

Tommy lifted his gaze to see that Adam was looking straight into his eyes. There was such an intensity written all over Adam’s face, that before Tommy was able to control his physical reactions, he felt how a blush crept on his cheeks.

“Tommy Joe, come with me.” Adam extended a leather gloved hand as an invitation.

The dark man was handsome, and the words soft and kind, a perfect deception. Tommy’s heartbeat was pounding, in anticipation, not in fear. He knew Adam could sense it, he could even hear it himself. Whatever was going to happen now, he kind of couldn’t lose. If he died, he would get his peace, and if not, he’d just get more time to figure it out himself.

Tommy took the hand and found himself being pulled up. Adam smiled at him and gestured Tommy to take a hold of his arm, just like girls did in the medieval times. The gesture should have felt corny as hell, but in the current, fucked up situation, he found it didn’t.

“Shall we go?” The soft, gentle words made Tommy shiver; he had never guessed another man could have such an effect on him. He knew Adam wanted to take them somewhere more private, most likely his hotel room. It was just fine for him.

“Yes,” Tommy somehow managed to choke out.

They started taking slow steps towards the exit that led to the stairway. Two armed guards stepped aside, letting them leave the guarded space. Tommy started hearing Ann’s panicked shouts again.

“No, no, please take me away too. Please don’t let them kill me!”

It was like straight from a horror movie, where a victim, who completely deserves her faith, keeps on pleading for her life. All the shrieking had started to cause Tommy a massive headache.

Tommy kept walking with Adam, exiting the main hall. That was when he heard Ann’s bloodcurdling shriek. It didn’t leave much doubt to what must have happened. The only question was: who had done it? Tommy guessed it was either Kris or that other guy, Monte.

“Finally someone shut her mouth,” Tommy muttered and as a response Adam let out a vibrant laughter.

They were walking side to side, definitely heading towards Tommy’s room. The musician gazed at Adam, and the dark angel turned his face to meet Tommy’s look. Tommy’s heart leaped in his chest. He was going to be pliable to anything that Adam was going to do to him. What ever happened, it would be ok.
