homeless kids must have the worst jobs around. i mean, most of these kids have have suffered through such traumatic experiences both at home and on the street. how can anybody really think that people choose to live on the street thinking 'man, this is gonna be easy!'. i'm not saying you should go around hugging people because you got a better ( Read more... )

so... i can't kick the homeless anymore?

killjoy

i am aware a lot of people suffer every day. but how can you tell the difference between people who had it brought upon them, and people who've brought it on themselves?

i don't usually give out money...
mainly because i'm usually running short on it, but secondly i always have the feeling i that i think i'll see one worse off a couple blocks down who's in worse shape.

but generally i don't disrespect much of anyone. i may laugh a little when they run down the street topless and screaming.

you'll have you save your kicking exclusively for the immobilized elderly in fancy hats. you can't tell the difference between deserving and not, but that seems like a rough life for anybody regardless of motivation. i read that some kids are dropped off at the mall by their parents but they panhandle for fun and then go home after. so maybe i'm getting suckered thinking that i'm helping kids by giving to them. but i can't tell so i'll have to come up with a squeeze test or something. but when i think about how much time i spend alive and how many times i run into homeless kids, it's not very long. so what i do give is pretty insignificant in the long term to me, but has gotta help them in the short term. If they're just mallrats than it's like paying to see what the kids are wearing these days and they're just jerks for taking money that could be going to people who need it. and nobody ever said no to a good petting. remember that.

They jacked the tuition at my school too. $8.00 a cred hour, but in the 8 years I've been going there off and on, its gone from $75.00 a cred hour to $120.00 and that doesn't include the other hidden fees that they get you for either.

Yep, 8 years. Nope not a grad student, actually I would probably be considered junior at a 4 year school, PhD eventually since you pretty much need one for anything in Archaeology.

Even though I've gone for 8 years (as of this term) a lot of time was spent only taking one class because that was all I could fit into my schedule. Sometimes I'd get lucky and be able to fit 2 in. Right now I'm at a junior college. I probably should just transfer and get it over with, but I want to get my "two year" degree first, since I know some of my creds won't transfer without it. I've also changed my major 5 times, and that didn't help either.
