I know I have a much lower threshold for a LOT than I used to. PPD changed me in ways I can't really even fathom. I was taking Lexapro for 3+ years. I've been off it for 4ish. Sometimes I wonder whether my life would feel more manageable if I were still taking...... something. I don't deal with stress very well, I get short tempered easily, and I DO NOT LIKE PEOPLE. I like persons. But PEOPLE stress me out and piss me off.
i wonder if anxiety is related to age at all...i have had a pretty serious uptick over the last year as well.
i have the electronic ADD thing happening too. i can't really decide if it's actually a "problem" or not. i tend to be fairly open-minded when it comes to technology and how it's chaging our lives so i try not to assume that just because i'm doing things differently now means there's something wrong with a behavior.
I never had anxiety until we did ivf twice and neither time worked. Then it was like a switch was flipped in my brain and *bam* major anxiety!
I started therapy (and still occasionally go for "tune-ups" and am on lexapro. I have a script for Xanax, but rarely use it. At the beginning I needed it a lot. It sounds ridiculous, but my therapist diagnosed me with mild PTSD after the ivf cycles. Therapy helped a lot. My therapist did a technique called EMDR which was very effective for me in curbing the anxiety.
