Make it New Again

You know those things that you liked, but now they're ripped/faded/out-of-style? It would be so easy to just toss them and replace them, they don't even cost much money. We're the same way, we always look at getting the best quality the first time around, so that we won't have spend a fortune replacing it again and again. My husband always says that it's an "investment", especially when it's something for the kitchen, he loves to cook and I love to bake. :)

This was really interesting to have pop up on my flist today. :)

My boyfriend has been putting on some major muscle mass in his legs bicycling, but has kept wearing his favorite pair of corduroys anyhow. Well, quite comically, today they split straight down the rear in a fashion that wouldn't make a very attractive patch up.

We would likely have thrown them out, but you've got me thinking about reworking and sewing some of the pretty brown corduroy in to a purse for myself...

Oh, I love that idea! I've definitely made some things out of my favorite articles when they've been too worn out to go on.

I'm trying to convince my husband to let me make a quilt out of his old silk screened band t-shirts that he can't wear any more but can't bring himself to get rid of.
