Sorry I've been MIA, but our scrimping and saving finally got my family to where we had always wanted to go, and we were lost in the awe of it for a while. My husband and I bought our first home in November and moved in last month. For those of you who remember, we are a family of four living off of a single $10 an hour income. Congratulations! Going from $200 a week to $100 is a huge accomplishment, and you should be proud. :)

I love the idea of the Naked Lady party, once my friend has her baby I am definitely going to gather up the girls and give that a try!

Congratulations on your new home. I don't even know you and I'm proud of you :) lol You have totally inspired me!

I'm single and don't really have too many money saving tips for the family, but I have started making a menu of daily meals and I never noticed before how much I ate out. Just bringing my lunch to work and eating in every night has saved me so much money.

I am planning on being debt free by this time next year and hopefully a couple of years after that I will also be able to own my first home.

Thanks very much, I'm glad to know that others are on the same track.
Aren't the menu plans amazing? I couldn't find my pad of weekly planners (which is what I use to make my family's weekly meal plan) for about three weeks after we moved and I was lost! I couldn't believe that even after years of using them, I still found myself standing around at 5pm trying to decide what to make (and much more often than I'd like to admit, ordering pizza, which is something we normally only do on special occasions.)

Good luck with your plan of being debt free in a year - I know it will feel fantastic to achieve! :)
