Good choice -- good post. I like your comparison with movies. Another endless subject for discussion! I agree about Citizen Kane. My own favourite (but it only works if you know French) is Resnais' "Hiroshima Mon Amour", which has a prose poem for script, and a sense of rhythm I've never seen equalled.
I didn't like Donne's poem. I was surprised that it was Donne because I like his work emesely. Although, I suppose I enjoy his love poetry more. I think it was the doths and thous that killed it for me...so to speak. That was a great post. I watched Citizen Kane so long ago. I should go watch it again. I don't know if I agree with you that the "experience of death does not exist" how do you know that? There have been people who have come close to death that claim they see light or have experienced being close to death.
