Here is what he looks like.
[Clothing] Link is above~ He always wears the same thing.
[Background] One hundred years ago Cheshire was a completely normal house cat, living in the city of Sabrié with a young girl named Alice. Most of his life with the child seemed perfectly blissful... But thanks to excerpts from the journal of a young man named Jack Bezarius it is revealed that Alice soon began to change. Curiously; he also noted that the child’s pet cat would avoid her on certain days but act very affectionate on others... Almost as if the animal would momentarily cease to recognize its owner.
The real trouble started when a boy named Vincent gouged out Cheshire’s eyes with a pair of scissors and threw Alice into a frightening rage. And then the fateful day arrived that would forever after become "The Tragedy of Sabrié". Glen Baskerville, the mysterious head of the Baskerville house, ordered everyone in the castle of Sabrié to be killed. He then used a ritual to send the entire city into the twisted, dream-like dimension known as the Abyss.
For unknown reasons, Alice scattered all of her memories after this; including the ones regarding the Tragedy. The specific memories about her last day on earth created a dimension where Cheshire lives as a “chain” and serves the Will of the Abyss (the other “Alice”). The bell he wears around his neck contains the "truth" behind the incident at Sabrié. In time the cat regains a left eye, which was taken from Xerxes Break when he was pulled into the Abyss.
[Personality] Cheshire usually appears rather disinterested in everything around him; always unruffled by the words of others and even keeping a calm demeanor when insulting someone. True to his feline nature, Cheshire will often sit on his haunches, purr, and even groom himself. He shows a need for constant amusement; stating at one point during his fight with Gil and Oz that “I’m kinda bored playing already…” The cat also shows a bit of curiosity regarding humans and their unfamiliar tendencies, questioning Oz’s motives and calling him “weird” because of his personality.
Despite his seemingly apathetic mask Cheshire does indeed have other emotions, even if they aren’t normally visible. He is extremely frightened of Break and Alice because of their powers, but is still willing to confront them in order to protect the memories he guards. While he originally seems to be loyal to only the Will of the Abyss, in reality his faithfulness remains with Alice. He is desperate to protect her from her own memories and is not above pulling the girl back into the Abyss (or die trying) in order to keep the truth hidden.
[Specialties/Abilities] Just like the familiar feline from the Lewis Carroll story; Cheshire can teleport himself (and even others) as long as the right opportunity is available. As far as attacks go there is no specific ability that the chain possesses to make him stand out… But of course one shouldn’t forget those giant, sharp claws of his. The black cat’s oversized paws can deal quite a bit of damage, and when mixed with his exceptional speed Cheshire can be especially dangerous. Additionally, he is one of the few chains that does not need a human contractor in order to move between the Abyss and other dimensions; owing to the fact that the Abyss is not his technical residence.
Cheshire can also regenerate from damage, but if the dimension of Alice’s memories begins to corrode then he will vanish with it.
[Affection] Cheshire really could care less about everyone around him and only reserves his loyalty for Alice and the Will of the Abyss. Unless someone reminds him of either it is highly doubtful that we will become connected with them in any real way... He views most humans as "weird", "noisy", or something along those lines. But. It's probably not good to try and take that bell of his, or you will NOT end up on his good side. Break, that means YOU.
[Fighting] Other people are welcome to pick a fight with Cheshire, although they had better be able to keep him entertained the whole time... He has a rather short attention span. He can't be injured unless his opponent is another chain, and therefore can't be killed by anything one. Cheshire won't pick a fight unless someone continually grates on his nerves or tries to steal his bell... Or if they start it first. Otherwise he's pretty passive aggressive.
[Other Facts] Cheshire almost always speaks in third person~
