[After the sudden jolt of motion sickness was over, Naomi couldn't help but admit that, despite being terribly dangerous and over the top, the jump was a little thrilling.
Not that she would ever try it or even stand to watch another in attempt. The doctor in her was just far too appalled by such a stupid display.]
And how long did it take you to learn how to do that without breaking every bone in your body?
[You don't recognize her, Altair, but she certainly knows you. Even if months have gone by.]
In my world, we have a city of those trained in such a feat. It is not uncommon to see many of the novices practicing their Leaps. [Can you hear the capitalization? You should, he isn't hiding it very well.]
[Lara watches the dream silently. This is the first time Altaïr has a dream about his world, even if he doesn't remember it. That's how they met after all. At least, this time he's not killing anyone. For all her teasing of him, her smile is rather soft at the moment]

[But Lara knows Altaïr and she knows one has to listens well to the intonation of his voice to know what he may truly think or feal. She might not be able to always and completely read him, but she hears the longing this time and she can relate.]
You did, the last time you were here. I have no doubts you'll find the rooftops here exhilarating again.
[She then pauses for a moment, before continuing on, her eyes shining with curiosity]
That jump at the end...It was truly impressive. Something your Order only does?
[At first, Desmond thinks he's dreaming or he's back in the Animus, because the scene is familiar to him. He can almost smell the dirt in the city and feel the harsh sun beat on him. But then he gets a grip on himself and realizes that this a dream his ancestor is having. He watches, with baited breath, as Altaïr execute a perfect Leap of Faith, feeling the same rush he had when he did his first one months ago. Desmond is grinning too, probably sharing his ancestor excitement as well.]
I wish I had the chance to do that more on my own, at home.
[Especially that Lucy seemed pretty impressed with it]
[Desmond nods, not surprised at all by this suggestion]
Yes. I do try to run every other nights. The industrial district is rather good for that. Few guards at night and the buildings are close enough to run on the rooftops.
[Oh, he knows this is a test of his skills. Luckily, the novice have been training, so his steps are lighter and quicker than the first time he met Altaïr. The disappointment is not going to be so great that time. Or so he hopes.]
We do not start with great heights. The church in Jerusalem you saw is the tallest in the Holy Land, only the most skilled can make that Leap. [Arrogance is quite clear in his voice now.]
It is only suicide if you do not have faith in your skills. If you doubt your skills then you will not land correctly.

[It was one of the first skills that he learned, and was by far the most fun.]

[Jumping off of impossibly tall buildings into nothing more than a pile of hay seemed...too dangerous to take so lightly.]

You miss your home already?

I do not miss the beggars. But the freedom of the roofs.
[A faint trace of longing can be heard in his voice, though many would not know to listen for it.]
I will have to find something similar here.

Yes. It is taught to our novices from a young age, but we can teach any how to Leap. The young are simply easier. They go without fear.

[He refuses to believe he won't be able to use his skills here. And he has to evaluate Desmond's skill level.]

[Actually, now that he thinks about it...]
I shall assess your skills with a blade as well. Your training should not be forgotten simply because we have been stolen.

You normally take swan dives off tall buildings?

[And now you're just going to be stared at.]
Yes. It is a skill trained by our order.

Where I'm from that's called suicide.
