This little trilogy has been such a heartwrench to read, but also rang painfully true. Beautifully written. Thank you.

Thank you

I'm glad it seems even a little bit real; it was kind of hard to write, to be honest :) *hugs*

This whole trilogy is so beautiful, so well-crafted, so richly visual (draw do you?). After reading the first 2 (so sad!) I didn't know whether I could handle a third. But this one has that surprising spark of hope at the end that, in a way, softens the blows of the first 2. Thank you for writing these. I'm sure to return to read them again on days when I'm feeling strong enough to handle their power.

How did you know I draw? ;)

I had to give them one more outing because the last one ended on a downer. I wanted to give them the spark of hope and show that it's not all doom and gloom.

Sorry about that noise, it was my heart breaking on the ground.

All these years when John took care of Sherlock and "anticipated where he needed to be to make things easier" and now it's the other way around.

I'm glad the last part is, in a way, less sad than (but as beautiful as) the two other parts. The last line, although heart-rending, has a touch of hope in it, because, even if we know the fight is hopeless, hey, it's John and Sherlock, OK, and they'll always win in the end, as long as they've got each other, won't they ?

To my mind two words from the fic summarize the whole trilogy, and most of your drawings actually: just the two of them together quietly. Oops, sorry, my heart again.

Ooh, sorry about your heart there....

"they'll always win in the end, as long as they've got each other"

You hit the nail on the head there. I wanted to show that through everything they've been through, they'll survive because they have each other.

Thank you for the lovely, lovely comment. :)

back when you started these i kept thinking you couldn't keep doing it. hitting those spots. of them. through time. so dead on. deeply angtsy. and beautiful.

but you have. and as always there are tissues. and now a smile. for some things truly do hurt so good. this is on that list. ♥
