Didi had spent some time this morning talking to her fish as she cleaned and rearranged their tank. Either she was a little bored, or they had seen fascinating things during the gremlin invasion. It might have been both

Jacob had been on the way back from lunch when he remembered that he hadn't seen Didi yet since the invasion. Making sure his big sib was actually still in one piece seemed the right thing to do.

He knocked lightly on the door and pushed it open far enough to be able to look into the room. "Hey, Didi."

"Hey, Jacob," Didi grinned as she paused the movie. "What's up? Want to watch a romantic comedy with guns in it?"

"You realize the guns are the only thing that aren't making me run from the comedy and romantic part?" Jacob grinned and stepped inside the room.

"I just came to see if you've got through the weekend alright, but I can be persuaded."

"That might have been why I mentioned them," Didi admitted freely, and shifted on the bed so there was more room if he wanted to sit. "Yeah, I got through fine. I spent some time in Caritas and helped Jono clean up the library. How'd you make out?"

She gave him a sheepish look. "I feel like I should be the one checking up on you."

"Heya," Jaime called as he walked into the room with a bag of take-out. "You hungry?" he asked, shaking it.

Didi smiled. "Probably. What is it?"

"Thai," he declared. "Coconut chicken. And some sort of soup."

"If there's enough chicken to share, I'd love some," Didi said gratefully. "How's the week treating you, anyhow?"
