It's not so much that I'm "straight-edge;" I just don't understand the fascination people have with alcohol. I don't know if that makes me odd, but I hope not.

People like alcohol cause it's forbidden and they feel the need to be rebellious, and because it makes them more sociable and makes people act in crazy ways. Besides, humans have always been looking for mind-altering drugs -- it's like caffeine (YAY!), or nicotene, or marijuana, or whatever else. It can just be abused too easily and has too many nasty side effects for me. I mean, I like waking up knowing what happened the night before and not throwing up all over the place, but apparently some people disagree. Mostly I think it's a social thing and people aren't creative enough to have a good time without it. Go figgy.

I've tried it. I don't care for it much. It doesn't taste all that great, and I like having conscious thought, thank you very much.
