I think the mistake you are making is thinking that people didn't respect you last year because you did those things. I mean it may be true that most of those boys didn't respect you and it may even be true that you didn't respect yourself when those things happened, but honestly? You could hook up with ten thousand men and the rest of us are still going to respect you because the quality of your character is not measured by the number of boys you kiss. I mean, I think it's great that you haven't been drinking or hooking up with boys because it's something that makes you feel good about yourself but last year we still saw you as sweet, funny and caring Mel who had interests and hobbies and was fun to hang out with and talk to and just be around.
