I don't find it overly offensive, but I think that it might be a little too suggestive for a commercial promoting a childrens meal. It's a cute idea, but they might have taken it just a little to far.

But the dancers are wearing very concealing costumes and, as you said, the choreography is tamer than what you would find most high school cheerleading squads doing. So while it might not be such a great idea for a comercial aimed at kids, it's nothing for people to get all huffy and up in arms about.

If it were being played during daytime or prime time hours, I can understand some people getting worked up. But I have yet to see the commercial air before 9pm. It seems squarely targeted at the teen & young adult audience who're into Spongbob as much - or moreso - than children. If Nielsen Media Research were plugged into stoners' TVs, across the world, I wouldn't be shocked if they find they're the #1 audience for Spongebob.

I've seen it played during the day, but it was on Comedy Central. That channel in general isn't really for kids

What's so offensive? I thought she was flipping out because there were...I dunno, kids in it, too? This looks like it's aimed at the teens and adults that like SpongeBob. And like you said, they're definitely more covered than say, cheerleaders or the women on Dancing with the Stars, and I'm sure a lot of kids watch the latter with their moms.

That's not even that bad. I've seen commercials far worse than that.
