Sounds like a lot of what I've been told for my dyed hair is similar to what you're finding for fragile hair. I use a cheap satin pillowcase. Does reduce the tangling a bit. I wash my hair as little as I can stand, which is about every 5 days or so now. I shampoo only the scalp unless I've been outside a lot and my hair feels gross, and condition only from the ears down. Sort of compensates for the greasy near the scalp, dry at the ends thing. You can also use dry shampoo between washes near the scalp and Frizz-ease to tame down the curls.

Interesting. I may look into a satin pillowcase.

I also don't wash my hair every day (which makes it hard to comb through it dripping wet).

My hair is actually dry all the way up, so I don't notice a greasy/dry combo problem.

I have never tried Frizz-ease. It looks like a leave-in conditioner. It's disturbing that Amazon says this: "Item is HAZMAT, non-returnable."
