Fall Blues!

I just finished giving my third out of five speeches this semester.  I gave it on David Berkowitz(the son of sam).  The students in my speech class seemed to enjoy it.  I also gave a hand out
on the characteristics of a serial killer.  It is hard to believe that next week will mark the mid term of this semester.  Where is my life going and why am I ( Read more... )

I know how you feel about the hard work of 4 classes and tests to take. Congrats on your good results. As for the rest of it, you'll be 50 in 5 years anyway, bust just think how much fun you'll have had in getting there. I'll be seeing that big 50 next year if its any consolation. I don't plan on slowing down until I come to a stop though.

Thank you Gissa. Its nice to know that other people are going through the same thing and like you said, I'd rather be 50 with the degree, than 50 without!

Thanks too for the beautiful pics.

I turned 54 two weeks ago...you, my dear, are just a youngun'.

Doubts are normal, discouragement is, too, especially when what we´re doing doesn´t seem to go with our age group. And you´re working, also.

I admire your willpower! And congratulations on those Spanish grades! If you keep that up you´ll just have to test all that knowledge out over here.

I LOVE my Spanish class!!! I made a 94 on my second test and I have another next week. So far, I'm not having any problems memorizing the vocabulary...well, I'm not trying to memorize so much as learn and retain. I really want to minor in Spanish. I got papers from the school today wanting me to declare a major in the business college and I have the option to decalre a minor. I hesistate to declare a minor in Spanish because what if I can't finish it?

Gracias, mi amiga.

There´s always the fear of failure and it´s a big one. Minors are generally a lot less intense than majors, though. If you really enjoy it, go for it! If you think it will just be added stress and anxiety, don´t.

Do you have an advisor you can talk to about your particular circumstances?

Congratulations on your test grades! Good job!

Hang in there girl. I graduated from x-ray school when I was 50 and got the first job I applied for. AND it was my dream job! You've come this far, so keep going. It will soooo worth it. :-)
