Easy Advice mrvetinari May 11 2008, 21:16:54 UTC
Simple. The best first step is to ask for a reasonable quiet at certain times critical to your studies. If you ask very politely and your request is manageable, they will likely be very accommodating. Otherwise, going to management first might be interpreted as underhanded and unnecessary.

Just my advice having formerly lived in an apartment for several years.

Hmm. It depends on what you know about your neighbor. I would take the time to introduce myself, sometime, and then come to a conclusion after that.

And yes, Pittsburg IS awesome. I'm glad you're enjoying it!

When I use to travel for work, I was the only one who liked going to Pittsburgh. There's just something about the city that I've always liked and I've always found the people to be friendly.

And the neighbors...if they don't appear to be serial killers, talk to them first before going to the manager. As a parent...sometimes our kids don't seem as loud to us as they may to others and a friendly word isn't a bad thing.

Great to hear from you!

Yes, talk to the parents directly. You can be assertive without being aggressive or angry. You have rights, too; six months is way too long.

Isn't learning fun?! :)

(Unfortunately, I don't have any useful suggestions about the kids in the hall...)
