September 15th, eh? Tomorrow Lou and I will have been together for 2 months. Wow, that went by fast. :) In a week and a half I turn the big 3-0. A few days later I start my clinical internship at the sleep lab. Things are still a bit hairy and rough around the edges, but think that the hell that was the first part of this year may really be over

I have to say that I'm really impressed that you didn't run away/move home, and that you've cut back. Cutting back is *really* hard, and anyone that does it, frankly, I'm in awe of. I have a lot of friends that have not, and are or eventually will reap the fallout of spending beyond their means... but I have so much more respect for my friends who handle the ups and downs of life independently- financially or otherwise. Mostly because I'm pretty sure I couldn't do it. So anyway, that's all just to tell you that I think you're pretty damn hardcore, and I really appreciate knowing people like you.

And hey, having insight on people is a really valuable skill, if you learn how to use it. It's served me both well and poorly over the years, depending on the situation.

You're definitely not alone--I have found that I, too, am really proud of myself for not moving back home and sticking it out post-divorce. So good for you!

And thirty is good. I have been generally quite fond of thirty!

Got a couple of book appearances in the next couple weeks, but we should get together sometime after that!
