my father is sitting at the dining room table reading, I think with his hearing aides out as he does not respond when you talk to him.  Xavier is eating a whole apple (thank god grandma asked before cutting it up for him) Olivia is helping grandma make applesauce and I wandered away because my face hurts from gritting my teeth and since my teeth

I love it when I get a new "aha" saying from a meeting. 22 years in and it still happens regularly.

I've been really meditating on a similar concept. Someone told me, "my opinion of you is none of your business."

Alcohol smells like Christmas to me. Whiskey specifically smells like my grandmother. Wine smells like my aunt. Rum smells like my dad (rum balls. He at a lot of rum balls). Every other alcohol smells like my uncles. There was a lot of self medicating going on there, everyone trying to get along on Christmas. It didn't really work though. There was still so much anger going on. Maybe it helped them for a while, but they kept at it until the alcohol let out rage. I think lots of families have a hard time getting together...at least the families I know
