1. at my private high school, we had Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus.

2. at my all-girls school, the line between "normal girl relationship" and a "lesbian one" was constantly being blurred. Girls often gave hugs and sometimes they held hands.

3. what are you doing for New Year's?

Yea, I wasn't surprised by Jews at a Lutheran school... what surprised me was that they said "some aren't christian and are even jewish" as though it was some great divide or shock. I would have expected something more along the lines of "some aren't christian and are even pagan" or something along those lines.

Also, I agree with you... I haven't seen any hard and fast rules for defining "normal" vs. "lesbian" relationships that don't depend on specific physical acts.

I'm not sure what I'm doing for new year's yet, but I'm probably going to stay somewhere around westwood.
