Liya woke up early, before the sun had even risen. Silently and carefully, she extracted herself from Edmond's embrace and quickly dressed, eager to go for her early morning ride. She and Tsali both enjoyed the time and it was becoming more rare that they were actually able to do so. She found him waiting for her.

The Count was not yet up, but Albèrt was out riding his own horse in the early morning. He liked to ride to clear his mind of some things.

Liya smiled when she saw Albert and Tsali slowed to a walk, leaving an opening for Albert to speak to them. She knew better than to push the issue.

Albèrt is surprised to see her out here this early. He is usually alone when he rides so he asks, "Why are you out here so early, Liya?" That was actually phrased in a question and not snippy like all his other conversations with her.

"Tsali and I have always enjoyed early morning rides," she replies softly. "We used to wake early and begin our day before the sun even rose."

After her ride, she goes back to find Edmond.

He is awake and dressed. She smiles and moves to kiss him. "Good morning." She paused for a moment. "I am curious about something," she added.
