Fantastic lines and really interesting insights: "the sisters took her away and burned her down to base metal, poured her remains into a suit of leather, and forged a woman so sharp that her glance could draw blood.
They made her too well, more flexible and resilient than themselves."
I really like Dahlia's character in this -- I like how smart and witty she is.
This AU Dahlia is fun to write, incorporating the known and the unknown into a new-ish character. Glad to hear you like the story - thanks for reading. :)
Cara and her feelings are among the very few things that unfailingly make my cold black heart well up, and you have a staggering grasp of them both. I also love how, even though this reality's Dahlia took a different course in life than the Dahlia we saw, she is still very much Cara's equal in intelligence and spirit--they suit each other so well. Spot on.
I'm pleased - and relieved - to hear that I'm doing okay with writing Cara, and that AU Dahlia is working for you. Thanks so much for the affirmation and the kind words. Glad you enjoyed the story. :)
Well. This was just frakking amazing on all kinds of levels, I can't even. I adore your style, and the characterization is pitch perfect. To think you don't even watch the show is just unbelievable *bows down*
In fairness, I have watched several episodes of "Seeker," just not enough to feel really grounded or comfortable - which is why I'm constantly warning readers of my ignorance. I am incredibly relieved to hear that I'm not making a total hash of things thus far, so thanks very much for that. :)
I am repeating and realleging what every commentator has said in the last 24 posts, except that I am adding how much I loved the script-reversal between Cara and Dahlia in the end. Made me smiled like a Midland idiot. :)
I love devices like script reversals, and re-textualizing of previous lines (like the James/Juliet goodbye&hello scenes in the Lost premier and finale). Glad to know you enjoyed the story, and thanks so much for reading. :)
