Between work and trying to actually have a social life, I just finally got to watch Cold Blood.
- I think the ring is going to be significant. Because Rory is erased from history, he never existed, but the ring he bought Amy is still there. Firstly, it doesn't make sense (but then neither does The Doctor being able to stick his hand inside the crack and not be erased or whatever), and secondly, I think it will play some part in Rory coming back. Not sure how.
- Jeez, Amy is so MEAN to Rory! It was especially noticeable to me in this episode, where they're in all this mortal peril and she can't do anything but call him an idiot and clingy. You'd think after Amy's Choice, where she supposedly realized she really loved him, she'd be a little nicer or pleased to see his face after she thought she was going to be dissected alive 31 miles underneath the earth. Blah blah, that's just how she deals with stress, blah blah whatever. Mean.
- Speaking of Amy having issues... I loved how ROUGH the Doctor was with Amy after Rory died, how cruel he was, really. He left Rory there, knowing she'd forget him. It made me think about how... It's almost like, he messed her up already; let her down, abandoned her and hurt her, inadvertently affecting her whole life and shaping the kind of person she'd be. Now Amy is this person who can't grow up, who ran away on her wedding night with a man she'd been waiting twelve years for, who doesn't want to stop having incredibly dangerous adventures because it would mean becoming an adult. And the Doctor almost has this twisted thing where it's like, can he even hurt her any more than he already has?
That doesn't make any sense, but he's so... coarse with her. And he has guilt about it, hates himself for it, for wanting her for his own, basically. But he can't stop himself from messing up her life.
Er, and perhaps also I just liked how he almost fought back when she was hitting at him and how he grabbed her face. It was a good scene.
How gorgeous is this girl?
RD made me realize that she is younger than I am as well, and that is NOT ON.
