"Artemis~"

The small girl slipped in the room where the white cat was as well, her hands behind her back. There was a small, mysterious smile on her face and her cheeks were covered with a cute rosy blush.

She stopped just before her best friend and kneeled down. "I've got something for you."

"Hmm?" Artemis looked up curiously as he sat down, wagging his white tail only as much as any feline would dare to. It wasn't very uncommon for Liz to bring people edible goodies, or maybe even some secretly forged artwork, but this seemed different than usual. He didn't need any particularly special senses to determine that much on his own.

Twitching his nose idly, he hadn't quite figured it out yet, having lowered his guard around Liz after their time together. She was likely the only person that could ever accomplish that very well, even though she probably didn't ever do it quite intentionally. Happily, he asked, "Well, what is it, then?"

Liz giggled at the sight of his twitching nose and placed a light kiss, shy kiss on his forehead.

"I've got a present for you." She finally allowed her hands to come forward and with them came a box wrapped up in white paper and decorated with a white ribbon.

"Because... you said that... One month after Valentine's Day it's White Day or something like that. So this is for you. I hope you like it."

Somewhat confused, the cat wasn't able to tell her that she shouldn't really give him anything. Besides not wanting to upset her, he was curious as always, and it wasn't as if she didn't normally bring people things even without much of a reason.

Tilting his head down at the box, he carefully opened one end with a sliding claw, then went about the rather awkward and conservative process of slipping off the wrapping. "It's..."

In the box, resting on a soft white fabric, lay a chocolate tablet of the brightest white. Though that could have been called already "special", the tablet was also decorated with small figures, delicately shaped and artfully positioned. When one took a closer look, he could see the figures represented both the the cat and the girl in all the times they had been together. Artemis was either in cat-form or human form and both of them were dressed in the brightest white.

"I asked Professor Kaiou if she could make this hard as well, so it won't melt. But it's still edible." She smiled brightly. "Do you like it?"

Hino Rei wanted to rush downstairs right after class. She wanted to see how her Mina-chan liked the locker full of presents, despite the fact that she had already Seen it when she Saw her unsuspecting girlfriend entering the locker combination during her vision. However, she managed to find the willpower not to give in to temptation, telling herself to wait and make sure Minako had time to get over the initial embarrassment of the semi-public display of affection, and to eat enough of the candy "hearts" to find the message that lay hidden underneath.

Her first thought to check up on Utena was foiled for the same reason, as the two girls were obviously roommates. Rei had been dropping by almost every day, if only for a few minutes just to check on the injured girl's condition. She seemed to be very healthy, though still unconscious and now hooked up to an IV unit to keep her from growing any weaker. Knowing that between living with one of the nurses and the always nosy watchful Artemis, Utena would be in good hands even if Rei herself ( ... )

As it turned out, Liz was already quite obviously being comforted by Artemis behind the half-closed door. Her material White Day present lay on one side, depicting all the touching times they'd shared together, the empty top of its box laying on the other. With his pink nose touching the one on his Liz's face, the eyes that had been looking into hers slowly made their way up to Rei as she entered. The position of his white body over Liz's was still much like a pounce, and he began looking rather guilty when he became aware of himself, though it may have easily appeared simply as a girl and her cat.

Worried for a second, is ears lowered, before he nervously perked himself up again, "Hi-Hino-san!" Laughing a little, he leaned back to more of a sit, suddenly becoming flat and short, though not quite angry. "What are you doing here?"

"Rei-chan?" Innocent gaze towards the other Seer as she was completely unaware that their position could be taken very wrong. Liz smiled gently at the other girl. "Can I help you with something, Rei-chan?"

It was only then that she noticed Artemis' discomfort and she gazed questioningly up at her special person. "Artemis?"

Rei stared blankly at the two as the door slowly creaked open. She was not entirely certain what she had walked in on, as she could feel waves of guilt and nervousness radiating from the white cat, whereas the girl's aura was as calm and innocent as she had ever Seen.

It was then that she caught glimpses of an empty box and white chocolate near where their bodies lay. Suddenly she remembered Minako making occasional, off-handed remarks about Artemis going to visit "his little girlfriend" again. I thought she was just jealous that Artemis was pretty much Liz's pet cat now, she silently mused. Maybe I should have taken her more literally...

Blinking her stare into a more natural glance, Rei spoke up. "Oh, er, Liz-chan." Somehow the honorific startled Rei, both because she was still used to classmates calling her Rei-san and because Liz was not Japanese herself, but she shrugged it off and added it to her name as well. "I just wanted to drop by and see how you were doing." Glancing up at the cat sitting on the girl's chest, Rei added ( ... )

Artemis snickered a little, "See? You know more than you think you do... 'Rei-chan.'" The cat found it obvious that Liz was a little more confused than usual. "It means, Rei-chan has an important duty to carry out from a very long time ago, but she couldn't remember on her own. She should probably just ask Mina about everything else. It's not something Liz has to worry about, because Liz has enough to worry about lately, doesn't she? Besides, we should...enjoy our food..."

Remembering the goodies that Liz had brought, he was reminded of just how annoying, or at least messy, it could be to eat apple pie as a cat. Not being able to enjoy his Liz's cooking suddenly seemed like a much more dire situation than any involving world shaping ancient magic he could discuss.

Appearing to be perplexed by the plate, he spoke reluctantly, "I'm not really sure, how to eat a whole slice of pie like this, unless you want a big mess." He held up a paw, wiggling his short toes at Liz. "Sorry, I didn't really think about it beforehand."

"Oh. Uhm..." Liz thought about it for a moment, pushing Rei and her Sailor Mars thingies aside for a while. "I could cut it in smaller pieces for you if you like that. Or..." The girl blushed a little. "Or I feed you. Uhm... depends on what you prefer, I guess."

"Yeah..." Rei solemnly nodded at Artemis's words. "Liz...I'm sorry I hadn't said anything before now, but, well...let's just say that I know exactly what you were going through. Because I was going through the same thing, myself..." Her eyes turned to meet those of her young friend. Not wanting to dwell on the subject too long, she simply said "If you ever need anyone to talk to, besides Artemis that is, I'll be here."

Pausing to look at her own slice of pie and then the cat next to her, she couldn't help but snicker back at him upon trying to imagine just how he was going to go about eating his sticky, gooey, snack without making a complete mess of things.

Artemis blushed slightly to the cook, but mostly for the fact they had an audience. "Well, if you, want to do that, I don't...mind." That was all he could say, not wanting to sound too eager, though he actually rather enjoyed the idea of being hand fed by his Liz. He couldn't keep his head from sinking ever so slightly, glancing sidelong to their guest, who was more than likely enjoying her chance to watch these things.
