I heard there is a new girl...?

Rumours spread quickly through a school like St. Catherine's and especially Seers were usually among the first to know when something had happened or someone new had arrived. While new students or professors were nothing new at the beginning of the semester, they were quite spectacular when they happened half way through a semester ( Read more... )

[ooc: I'm SO fucking sorry for not noticing this earlier!!! I apologize for being completely and utterly fucktarded.]

Naava smelled apples, apples with cinnamon. Naava pondered the myriad forms that such a combination could take. Had someone made an apple pie, quite possibly the ultimate form of pastry? But then, there was always cobbler which came in a close second place to pie, but lacked the second crust of a pie, or a crumble, which was good but lacked the ability to be shoveled into the mouth at great speed, for ultimate apple-y satisfaction.

Or maybe you could shut the fuck up about pie. That would be nice.

Stampede's voice was in Naava's mind, he had not made himself heard as he had made the mistake of doing with Daatu.

Shut up, you know you love the pie. Naava's response was confident, her demon could taste what she tasted, and he always managed to pay attention for desert ( ... )

Liz stared up at Naava, though she hardly even noticed the shirt. This girl was tall. Of course, there were other tall girls as well, but still...

"Ah... it... it's no problem, miss," Liz said shyly. "I uhm... heard there was a new girl and uhm... well... I-I-I thought... it's always nice when you're new and there is someone nice to you, so... I thought... maybe you'd like an apple pie?"

She held out the box with the freshly-baked pie in it up to the taller girl. "If you don't like it, I can always make something else," she hastily added. "And uhm... I-I'm Liz Riley..."

Naava briefly reflected on the decade she had spent subsisting on nothing but tasteless, vile protein mush and decided to impart a little bit of wisdom on her new friend. "...There's always room for pie."

"Come on in, just... please excuse the mess. I've never really been, err- cleanly per se. Organized? Possibly..." If there was a method of organization within that room, it was that the entire chamber was equally disastrous.

The only bit of the floor that was completely absent of the beanbag chairs, textbooks and clothing that seemed to overflow the rest of the room was a floor pad as one might have seen in a dojo or gymnast's studio. There was a bed near the door, oriented so that one might lie in at night and look out the window, a set of drawers and a closet. The only conspicuous thing in the room was a brief case with a padlock around the handle that was peeking out from under Naava's bed.

"Have a seat! If you want to, of course... anything is fair game, bed included."

Liz smiled at the girl's first sentence. She never really disliked anyone, but that one sentence completely won the gentle girl over.

She entered the room at Naava's excuse, looking for a place to put her pie down. The Seer smiled a bit shyly at the mess around her. "It... it is a little bit messy, isn't it?" she admitted. "If... if you don't have time for it... but would like to have it cleaned up..." Liz blushed a bit. "I... I wouldn't mind to help you with cleaning up. B-but first! Uhm... w-where can I... put the pie, miss?"
