WTF?

I just had a bloody nose. What the heck is that all about? Seriously, what is a bloody nose? I grew up having them relatively often, but I also grew up in a dessert. Why would I get one today, on this moist Boston spring day?

I don't understand!!

Oh, honey, that sucks. I used to get them all the time and still do occasionally. Part of the problem is dry air from the heating systems.

Just remember, DON'T tilt your head back!

*grossness alert*

I have to put diaper ointment on a Q-tip and rub it in my nostril (as per Dr.'s instructions, I certainly didn't come up with that myself!)

Hhhmmmm...like on a regular basis? Or when you get a bloody nose?

I'll try anything, I hate them! Once in a while I tilt my head back because otherwise they don't stop. One time I had one last for so long, and I was trying not to tilt my head back, but then I lost so much blood I passed out.

Ouch.

I'm getting some diaper ointment at the store tonight.

I just do it when I have a bloody nose. My nosebleeds are not very serious, but I get them a lot. Usually the blood just stays inside my nose.

The problem with tilting your head back is you can swallow the blood. Actually, I most often get nosebleeds when I'm sleeping. As I said, they're pretty mild so the blood doesn't flow out, but then I spit blood the next morning!

You girl's are funny! I remember having a lot of them when I was 11 & 12 and my mom made a joke to one of her friends that maybe, since I didn't have my period yet, it was coming out of my nose. I should have given you that *grossness alert* huh?!?
