Does anyone have any tips on how not to get nervous in job interviews?! I just don't cope well in them, I'm giving serious thought to vodka beforehand....
Ha ha, well, here is what I tell my students before job interviews: RELAX. Try to do some research on the employer/person you'll be interviewing with beforehand. Come up with some questions to ask them. That will help you feel more prepared and confident. Treat the interview as a conversation - remember, they've already seen your resume/application so on paper you're obviously qualified for the job. The interview is to see whether you're a good fit for them, and also for you to see if they're a good fit for you. Smile, keep your answers positive, sit up straight and lean slightly forward when answering questions, and maintain good eye contact. Your body language is just as important as what you say. But most importantly - RELAX. You'll do great!
