Thanks for the bookmark! So what do you think? A lot of bloggers say they think it should be considered for the Newbery so I'm really curious to read it.

I think it's Newbery -worthy for the unique style. Like The Invention of Hugo Cabret was for the Caldecott. It's a good one to study character etc - I'll probably do that after I read it for pleasure.
I was 5 in 1962= when this story takes place - so the black & white pages are fun to read and bring back some memories.
